Training Course for performing BMP tests
Our 2-day in-depth training on practical Biochemical Methane Potential (BMP) tests was held in Lund, Sweden between the 1st and 2nd of December.
By joining our 2-day technical training on BMP tests, and increasingly recognized tools for selecting and pricing biomass material for production of biogas, the participants of the course had the opportunity to gain profound knowledge on:
- Recommendations concerning the parameters that strongly influence the outcome of BMP tests (i.e. inoculum characteristics, substrate preparation, experimental set-ups, methods for measuring the produced gas, data analysis and reporting)
- Standardization as a key to reliable gas measurements in BMP tests
- Compulsory aspects for the validation of BMP tests.
Apart from protocols for the determination of BMP of a given organic waste, the course provided a complete understanding of the initial set-up and daily operation of the Automatic Methane Potential Test System II (AMPTS II) as a well-engineered analytical device which allows users to determine the BMP and the dynamic degradation profile of any organic substrate.
A laboratory-session closed the gap between theoretical and applied knowledge.
Looking forward to the next AMPTS II Training Course which will be held in Lund at the beginning of March 2017!
