What we do

We design and manufacture analytical instruments and software used in both academic research and industrial development. Our automated systems reduce repetitive manual work, improve repeatability, and make it easier to create datasets that stand up in reporting.

We develop hardware and software in house with a focus on automation, traceable data handling, and practical usability in real lab environments.

Where it’s used

BPC’s instruments are used in a broad set of application areas, including:

  • Biogas and biomethane
  • Biodegradability and compostability
  • Animal and human nutrition
  • Wastewater and sludge treatment
  • Fermentation and respiration studies
  • Biohydrogen and other gas producing processes

If you are unsure what fits your setup, share what you measure and how you run your tests. We will point you to a suitable starting point.

Why choose BPC

BPC is chosen by teams who need measurement systems that work day after day, not just in perfect conditions. Many customers start with one workflow and expand over time as their methods mature, more colleagues use the system, or reporting requirements increase.

Customers choose BPC when they need:

  • Automation that reduces repetitive manual steps
  • Clean, structured datasets that are easier to review and report
  • Solutions used in both academia and industry, backed by scientific adoption
  • A platform that supports upgrades and scaling over time
  • Documentation, training, and onboarding that supports consistent use

Training & support

Getting good data is rarely just about the instrument. Setup, method choices, and routines matter. We support customers before and after installation so the system becomes part of the lab workflow.

We can help with:

  • Onboarding and start up
  • User training
  • Methods and standards
  • Data handling and reporting
  • Troubleshooting and best practice

Our story

From Lund University to a global customer base

BPC Instruments was founded in 2005 by scientists from Lund University, with a clear idea from the start: lab measurement should be more repeatable and less dependent on manual routines. The early work focused on instrumentation, control, and automation for biological processes, with close ties to research environments where methods, documentation, and comparability matter.

Over the years, that foundation has shaped how we build products today. We develop instruments and software in house, with an emphasis on practical usability, structured data handling, and long service life. As customer needs have grown, the company has expanded its portfolio and support offering to fit both research groups and industrial teams.

Today, BPC works with customers, collaborators, and partners worldwide. We support applications across renewable bioenergy and environmental biotechnology and continue to invest in an expanding instrument and software platform.

For investors

BPC Instruments AB is listed on Spotlight Stock Market in Sweden, ticker: BPCINS. We focus on long term value creation through product development, commercial expansion, and a scalable instrument and software platform.
