BPC Instruments AB (“BPC” or the “Company”) announces that the Company has joined the Swedish national competence center – Biogas Solutions Research Center (BSRC) as an industrial technology partner that aims to contribute strong, national competencies leading to industrially and socially motivated research for the development of biogas solutions.
Sweden is a pioneer and has a long history of biomethane production for vehicle fuel and natural gas grid injection. However, a significant effort is required to overcome both societal and operational challenges for developing the biogas/biomethane market and match the Swedish long-term investment plan for boosting biogas/biomethane production to reduce the country’s dependence on imports of fossil natural gas and contribute to achieving climate and environmental goals. As an industrial partner for BSRC administered by Linköping University, BPC could contribute its biogas expertise and the unique experience in connecting industrial applications and innovative development. This enables BPC to be an active partner in the further development of the Swedish biogas market.
CEO Dr. Jing Liu comments:
“Feedstock quality control and analysis are critically important for ensuring full-scale stable and efficient biogas production. In order to meet the increasing demand of for biogas production, a significant effort is required to identify and collect suitable feedstock to feed more biogas production installations in the coming years. This is one of the key challenges addressed in BSRC’s program. As a pioneer in developing and offering analytical instruments of feedstock quality analysis and optimization for biogas production, BPC is willing to contribute its technical expertise and share industrial research experience through the BSRC platform. We are looking forward to team teaming up with other Swedish partners to work toward the achievement of the proposed national biogas target of 15 TWh by 2030.
