BPC Instruments to attend EAAP 2026 in Hamburg, Germany

BPC Instruments will attend EAAP 2026 in Hamburg this September, where we will present Gas Endeavour® III and meet researchers and professionals working across animal nutrition and livestock science.

The 77th Annual Meeting of the European Federation of Animal Science takes place from 7 to 11 September at the CCH Congress Center Hamburg. This year’s theme is “Shaping resilient livestock systems is key to circular agriculture”.

Mihaela Nistor, Senior Sales Scientist at BPC Instruments, will be there to discuss automated in vitro gas production analysis and how Gas Endeavour® III can support research into feed quality, fermentation kinetics and methane production.

Gas Endeavour® III for animal nutrition research

During the event, we will present Gas Endeavour® III, our automated platform for measuring low gas volume and flow in batch fermentation studies.

The instrument can be used to study rumen fermentation, organic matter degradation and the behaviour of feed materials under controlled laboratory conditions. Common applications include feedstuff evaluation, diet formulation, feed additive screening and research into components that may reduce methane production.

Gas Endeavour® III Animal Nutrition

Gas Endeavour® III continuously records gas production throughout the experiment. This allows researchers to follow both the rate and total level of fermentation, rather than relying only on measurements taken at the end of a test.

Several samples, controls and replicates can be analysed in parallel. Automated measurement also reduces the need for manual gas readings and provides structured data that can be monitored through the instrument’s web based interface.

From feed composition to fermentation behaviour

Understanding how a feed material behaves during fermentation can help researchers compare ingredients, assess additives and study their effects on digestion and methane production.

In vitro gas production methods make it possible to examine these processes under controlled conditions. They can support research involving ruminants and monogastric animals, as well as studies of fibres, enzymes and other feed components.
