An AMPTS II returns for service after 15 years

AMPTS® II laboratory instrument during service and testing at BPC Instruments.

An AMPTS® II instrument from the first year of production recently returned to BPC Instruments for service. It was the sixth AMPTS® II system we ever sold and has remained with the same customer ever since. For the past 15 years, the customer has used the instrument to test how additives affect anaerobic digestion and biogas production.

One of the very first AMPTS® II

BPC Instruments introduced AMPTS® II in the summer of 2011. Compared with the original AMPTS®, the second generation had a redesigned detection unit, updated electronics and browser based software. Users could access experimental data without relying on external PC based data acquisition.

When we received the service request, we checked our records and found that this particular instrument was delivered during those first months. Only five AMPTS® II systems had been sold before it.

The story of AMPTS®

Back with our service team

Once the instrument returned to BPC, our in house service team inspected, serviced and tested it. The team also replaced several parts that had exceeded their expected service life.

Laboratory instruments often become part of established methods and routines. Their value depends on reliable performance over time and access to service when it is needed. This story proves that our customers can count on BPC being a trusted partner throughout the working life of their instrument, even many years after the original delivery.

Serviced and tested, this AMPTS® II is now ready for further work in anaerobic digestion and biogas testing – maybe for another 15 years.
