BPC Instruments files another patent application for a new product line

TUE, APR 05, 2022 16:00 CET

Following the new patent application filed recently, BPC Instruments AB (“BPC” or “the Company”) today submits another patent application for the development of a new product line in the future. This new patent application covers a novel measurement technology that is suitable for comparatively larger gas flows. BPC will use the new patentable technology to develop a new product line ideal for process monitoring of pilot- and full-scale fermentation processes, which, for example, can be used for precise measurement of air or gases into batch processes and exhaust gas flow in the industrial production sector. The Company, therefore, sees excellent business opportunities and increased market potential as BPC expands from the analytical instruments sector to the industrial production sector.

This patentable technology enables a wide range of gas volume and flow detection for pilot- and full-scale process monitoring that is unique for the measuring principle in the market. The method is based on BPC’s patented gas volume and flow measurement technique and the latest development to achieve a significant improvement in measuring range from low gas flows to comparatively large gas flows with high accuracy and precision. The patent application is submitted as a part of the intellectual property protection strategy for a series of new technologies currently under commercialization. When granted, the patent will provide BPC with solid protection for gas volume and flow meters for various industrial full-scale biotech applications.

CEO Dr. Jing Liu comments

“This is certainly an exciting development that enables BPC to introduce a new product line to our products portfolio for pilot- and full-scale applications. The patent filing marks our first step toward business expansion from the analytical instruments sector to the industrial production sector, which is well in line with our business development and products development roadmap. The patent, if granted, will provide 20 years of protection for BPC and will be an important asset to the Company. We look forward to further technology developments and commercialization.”
