BPC Instruments files new patent application for future instrument products

MON, APR 04, 2022 13:00 CET

BPC Instruments AB (“BPC” or “the Company”) has submitted a new patent application that covers a new ultra-low gas volume and flow measurement technology for the Company’s next-generation analytical instruments. With the patentable technology, BPC is able to implement ultra-low gas volume and flow detection for microbial respiration analysis, which has never been possible before. The method is based on BPC’s patented gas volume and flow measurement technique and the latest development to achieve a significant improvement in measuring resolution, accuracy, and precision.

This patentable technology enables ultra-low gas volume and flow detection for microbial respiration analysis that has never before been possible to implement. The patent application is submitted as a part of the intellectual property protection strategy for a series of new technologies currently under commercialization. When granted, will provide BPC with strong protection for the next generation flagship products for various biotech applications.

CEO Dr. Jing Liu comments

“This is a ground-breaking technology that enables BPC to analyze microbial respiration in a novel way with a small sample amount and high measuring throughput for a better understanding of respiration kinetic. Once it is fully commercialized, it will contribute to the adaptation of BPC’s analytical instruments in new applications. The patent, if granted, will provide 20 years of protection for BPC and will be an important asset to the Company. We look forward to further technology developments and commercialization.”
