It’s all about the mixture
June 7, 2016
It’s all about the mixture when waste is used for making biogas. Waste from slaughterhouses contains high levels of lipids and proteins, which are very potent material for biogas production. Using only this type of material can create an unstable digestion process, so it is key to balance it with other types of material in order to make it efficient.
At the University of Borås in Sweden, PhD student Jhosané Pagés Díaz has evaluated slaughterhouse waste mixed in different ratios with other types of waste with interesting results. The abstract of her thesis can be found here!
